Older people need safe, secure and affordable housing as they age. But more and more people don’t have a secure place to live, or are becoming homeless.
We need your help to solve this problem! We are looking for people who can help us engage with the community so that they can access our services. We will be providing a 5 week training for you to become a community educator.
Through this training, you can either choose to become a bilingual educator, a community educator for the LGBTIQA+ community or a general community educator who can link older people at risk of homelessness to HAAG services.
The dates are across 5 Mondays:
- 17th Feb
- 24th Feb
- 3rd March
- 17th March and
- 24th March
The training will be held in person as well as online for the first 3 weeks. In the next 3 weeks we will have in person sessions, where we will also get a chance to practice, and address any questions and concerns you may have regarding the training.
The training will go from 11 am until 2.30 pm, with a few mini breaks as well as lunch!
You can also join our LGBTIQA+ or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) reference groups, and help us improve how we communicate and provide our services to people in LGBTIQA+ communities, from non-English speaking backgrounds, or from different cultures.
Your attendance at the Training courses be compensated for. We acknowledge your time, resources and travel.
