Barack Beacon residents are fighting to stop the demolition of their housing in Port Melbourne. We look at the residents problems with the proposed demolition, and what they are doing to create a better solution for everyone.

A fixed rental price must be advertised at the time a property is put up for rent. This advertised rate would act as a ceiling. Older people are already struggling to find affordable housing in an extremely competitive housing market. They are unlikely to be able to bid higher on properties on a limited income.

Working Groups

Media

HAAG values any media opportunity that raises awareness of housing issues. We have featured on national TV, have positions on local radio and have featured in various newspapers. We have also produced our own films. HAAG Clients and members are supported to tell their stories when media opportunities arise.
