Future funding uncertain for homelessness services
The next Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting will be held on 9.12.16. HAAG stand with the 209 community agencies who are calling on COAG to secure the future of the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness (NPAH).
The NPAH has been in operation for eight years and funds around one third of Australia’s total homelessness service system, providing support to around 80,000 people in crisis each year. Cuts to the NPAH will withdraw support from some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Without a clear decision before the end of the working year, vital support services are going to have to begin letting staff go and turning away people in need.
Please support us in lobbying for a commitment to fund the NPAH beyond 2016- Share this letter with your networks in any way you can and show your support on social media.
