Participation and Early Intervention Worker

We are seeking an experienced community development worker with a commitment to genuine participation for older people with a lived experience of being at risk of homelessness.  Our organisation has a long history of being led by and for older people, and this role will be working across our existing member-led working groups to develop a consistent organisation-wide approach to participation as well as building on our early intervention peer education program.

Quality and Business Support Worker

We are seeking a versatile and experienced worker with an eye for detail, to provide business and quality support as part of our continuous quality improvement.  You will be assisting us with maintaining and developing our “behind the scenes” systems, working closely with our managers and finance worker in meeting our reporting and accreditation requirements; providing administration and business systems support and assisting our Governance sub-Committee.  This is a newly created position within our growing organisation.

26.5% of the people who access our Home at Last Service to avoid becoming homeless, do so because their housing is inappropriate inadequate. Universal design means that older people can age in place, regardless of where they live. The ageing in place concept encourages older people to stay in their own homes, in order to promote health, well-being and independence.

Our submission calls on the Australian Building Codes Board to implement minimum standards for building design so older people can age-in-place.
