The homeless crisis in Los Angeles is linked to a lack of affordable housing. The 2018 Homeless Count, found more than 9,000 people newly experiencing homelessness, and a sizeable jump among those 62 years old and older. A lack of affordable housing and evictions are primary reasons individuals and families become unhoused in the City of LA.
This article discusses the benefits of rent stabilization in LA County, where the current motion to have it adopted will provide protection to 200 000 people.
