The aged care system is complex and difficult to navigate.  There are a group of people not accessing the system who need additional support.  The Aged Care System Navigator is a national trial testing different ways to support people to understand and engage with the aged care system.

The trial has been extended until December 2022.

HAAG is a "system navigator information hub" providing assistance to people who face barriers to access.  We can help any person in metropolitan Melbourne, the Goulburn Valley Hume region and the Barwon-South region with assistance in registering on My Aged Care, information about what may be available to them, and support to navigate the system.

If you want to talk to someone about aged care, or get help to find the care you need, call us on 1300 765 178 or email navigator@oldertenants.org.au or contact us here.

Stephanie Agius is our Aged Care System Navigator coordinator, and she is happy to have a chat about your options.

If you'd like more information about the project visit the COTA Australia website.

Older people need safe, secure and affordable housing as they age. But more and more people don’t have a secure place to live, or are becoming homeless. We need your help to solve this problem! We are looking for people who can help us engage with the community so that they can access our services. We will be providing a 5 week training for you to become a community educator. Through this training, you can either choose to become a bilingual educator, a community educator for the LGBTI community or a general community educator who can link older people at risk of homelessness to HAAG services.
